Is this suitable for complete beginners?
Yes — absolutely.
Our guided surf lessons are designed for first-time surfers and beginners. Your instructor will start with safety, positioning and technique on the beach before heading into the water, and you’ll be guided step-by-step throughout the session.
Can I join if I’m an intermediate surfer?
Yes – our groups are usually very small. The instructor will be helping out in the water and can adjust the instructions to your surf level.
How long is the surf lesson?
The guided surf lesson is part of a full-day adventure (approximately 6 hours), including transport from Noosa, a scenic 4WD beach drive, equipment fitting, instruction, and plenty of time in the water (approximately 2 hours).
What to bring?
Please bring what you would usually bring to the beach e.g: towel, sunscreen, water, camera, change of clothes. Some extra food is recommended.
What time do tours depart?
Departure times from Noosa Heads vary daily and are generally set around the low tide.

- The J Noosa (Theatre) 60 Noosa Drive, Noosa Heads (Best all day parking option in Noosa).
- Noosa Heads Bus Station, Corner Noosa Parade & Noosa Drive (Near Hastings St, limited parking).
- 12 Robert St, Noosaville in front of the Coral Beach Resort Noosa.

Is this surf lesson kid-friendly?
Absolutely! Our surf lessons are very family-friendly and are a great way for kids to experience the ocean in a safe and supportive environment. Double Island Point is the perfect place to learn for young kids, because the wave is very beginner friendly.
For children under 8 years of age joining a group lesson, we require a parent or guardian to assist in the water with the kids as well. This helps ensure younger children receive the extra attention they may need, as the instructor will also be supervising other participants in the group.
Our instructors are experienced in teaching children and will always adapt the lesson to suit the age, confidence, and ability of the group. If you have younger children or would like advice on the best lesson option for your family, please get in touch and we’d be happy to help.
