Last weekend saw 50+ Gurkhas from Nepal come and spend 3 solid sessions with us learning to surf, stand up paddle and kayak with dolphins at the spectacular Double Island Point. The Gurkhas are currently in Australia as part of the British Army training with the Australian army at the camp Kerr base just outside of Rainbow Beach.
We had perfect weather at Double Island Point, some nice swell to learn to surf and stand up paddle and a great group! We would like to thank them for an Epic 3 days. We look forward to the even bigger group next month.
A number of local business owners were very please with the extra business over the Anzac weekend that was created from these guys staying in Rainbow Beach.
Lastly, on the last day we were saddened by the news of the earthquake that hit Nepal and our deepest sympathy to those effected by the devastation.
