There really is not a bad time to visit the Sunshine Coast. With a sub-tropical climate and over 300 days of sunshine per year, the Sunshine Coast truly delivers the best holiday weather at any time of the year. Even the winter months of June – August stay pretty mild, with temperatures between 7-22°C (45-72°F). If you would like to see Humpback whales on your vacation, then plan to visit between June – November.

#2 Getting to the Sunshine Coast

The Sunshine Coast Airport has non-stop flights from a few airports like Sydney, Melbourne, and Adelaide. If you are coming from overseas or anywhere else in Australia, then the closest airport is in Brisbane. Brisbane Airport is only about one hour away from the Sunshine Coast, so you can take a train, bus, or hire a car. If you need Brisbane Airport parking, you can book online to find a great deal and save money on your vacation.

#3 Where to Stay on the Sunshine Coast

The Sunshine Coast extends for over 100km, between Bribie Island in the south to Rainbow Beach in the north. There are multiple towns and villages that make up the region of the Sunshine Coast. Choosing where to stay on the Sunshine Coast is completely dependent on what you are looking for in your vacation. You can choose to stay in the heart of the Sunshine Coast, near the Mooloobaba Beach, or you can choose a more remote location near Rainbow Beach. Noosa Heads is another popular region known for its proximity to the beaches and national parks.
